Article: A Shooting Star

A Shooting Star

A shooting star crosses the sky.

Quiet.
Unexpected.
Brief.
And completely unforgettable.

They don’t stay long.
They’re not meant to.
But the moment they appear, they leave you with something you didn’t know you needed.

Sometimes it’s a feeling.
Sometimes it’s clarity.
And sometimes it shows up at the exact time you need it.

Sometimes it happens at 4am in Ft. Lauderdale, laid by the ocean, staring at the horizon where the sky and water blur into one.

And sometimes it happens at 1pm on a bright summer day.

How rare it is to cross paths with someone who says the right thing at the right time…
something that reaches a part of you that had been quiet for years.

People don’t realize how much impact they can have with a few honest words.
How deeply a simple sentence can land.
How it can unlock something inside you.
Something you’d forgotten, or ignored, or never even seen in yourself.

We don’t get many shooting stars in life.
Not people who leave a mark after knowing you for only a moment.
Not conversations that stay with you long after they’re over.

But when it happens, you feel it.
You remember it.
You change because of it.

And sometimes they don’t have to stay.
Maybe that’s not their purpose.

Maybe some people are meant to pass through your life quickly,
to light up something inside you,
to remind you of who you are,
to realign your path for a moment
and then fade into the sky again.

But the light stays.
The shift stays.
The meaning stays.

And maybe that’s enough.
